Yoga and Pranayama

Why Yoga ?

The word YOGA means union or oneness. It works on the body and mind. Yoga is an ancient Indian tool to balance and harmonize the body and mind. Yoga gives an opportunity to work on oneself to move from physicalness to consciousness. There is a difference between physical breathing and conscious breathing. It brings balance between the physical and the psychological body. Pranayama: Pranayama is all about taking charge of the Prana within our body. Prana is a vital energy that pervades the whole body. It is not just air, but it is more subtle than air and oxygen. Prana uses the air as a media to travel through the body within and to process the energy. Life forces can be activated and we can know the power of breath.

Spiritual View

The unification of body and mind is the primary step of spirituality, this is possible only through yoga. Pranayama is a breathing technique that works for hand in hand with yoga. It helps to calm the mind. The regular practice of this duo creates discipline and gives the strength to sail through the spiritual path.

Scientific View

The gross form of the mind is the body and the subtle form of the body is the mind. Scientific studies are revealing that the hormones and neuro transmitters, chemical messengers, associated with emotion can also have physical effects. Vice versa, patients suffering from chronic diseases have low emotional quotients. They have emotional turbulence, nitric acid will be produced in our body out of Pranayama practices for the benefit of the body. Other forms of exercise assure only physical well-being, whereas Yoga works for much more than that. Yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which makes us feel relaxed and activates the pituitary glands to bring balance in the energy system of the body.
