Shiva, Shakthi and Creation

Question: Guruji, you make us experience Shiva in Shiva meditation. Similarly Can we experience Shakti like we experience Shiva?

What is Shakthi?

When we close our eyes what do we see?

nothing but emptiness or darkness. So, If we go deep in to the existence till the quantum level of matter we see that observable particles start as wave and as a particle. This is Heisenberg uncertainty principle. The very existence is standing on this uncertainty. This dynamism is the dance of Shakthi.

Shakti is the reason for the diversity of the existence.

Who is Shiva? How do we experience him?

Shiva is a powerful energy that is present in all of existence. It’s hard to explain who or what Shiva truly is. Because he goes beyond what we can see, touch, or describe with words. when we look deep into his personified picture. It’s not the person we are referring to, but the properties embodied by that form of energy SHIVA. If you become still and aware, you can feel his presence as pure consciousness within and around you.

To experience Shiva one has to apply the nihilistic approach to existence. Where you are totally empty from within, Beyond all the duels of existence.

What is the relationship between Shiva and Shakti?

The entire process of creation is from the duality of Shiva and Shakti. Shiva is the unmanifested form. Where as Shakti is a well manifested dynamic expression who expresses herself through every possible form in the Universe. She is the reason for Creation. She is the Chetana(the active force). She is the very essence of life, without whom the whole creation would be formless(Jada). She is the very expression manifested in various forms like, the energy, the speech, the shadow, the contentment, intelligence, the peace, the desire, the prosperity, sleep, hunger, memories, motherhood, in every and every aspect of life we are experiencing the manifested form of Devi or the Shakti.

One can experience Shakthi in the wakeful state only. For example, just stand in front of a huge wave on a beach to see the immensity of the physical power of the nature. Or just climb a huge mountain and see how big it is. This is just the physical aspect of it. But to experience her creative and destructive aspects we need to go beyond her manifested expressions. We need to go beyond the characters of Sattva, Rajas, and tamas.
These Gunas are the first manifested forms of Prakriti or the Adi Shakti – the prime energy. From them all the Other forms like 11 indriyas (sense and working organs along with the mind or the manas)etc are manifested.
A man since his birth Undergoes through all these tri gunas. At first when he is born the child is full of Sattva Guna(state where there is no difference), gradually he goes through Rajas (the greed of accumulation and victory) and the tamas (when he feels I am the only one and nothing else).

Actually in Sanskrit ‘tamas’ means Darkness. In this state there is a veil of darkness where the person can not see reality. To our surprise even this is a form of Shakti – Yoga Maya!!!. This is her game. But to unravel the truth of the creative and destructive aspects of Shakti we need to overcome the stages of rajas and tamas and remain completely in Sattva Guna. ‘Sattva’ in Sanskrit also means Energy. This Sattva gives us the energy to bear her intensity in the forms of creation and destruction. This is where sadhana helps us with maintaining and enhancing Sattva guna overpowering the Rajas and Tamas.

It is not that after experiencing Shakti we should move towards Shiva. They both exist Hand in hand which we call as Ardhanareeswara. Only because of this togetherness the creation is happening. This is the very basic concept of a Marriage where man completes the woman and thereby the woman completes the man and in this journey of togetherness the creation of the next generation happens.

Every woman is a manifested form of Shakti. To limit her power of creation and to rejuvenate her, nature has rendered many pauses like menstruation and pregnancy. She is so powerful that even she could imbibe the power of creation.
To overcome these pauses(not limitations) and grow more with the Universe, The very necessary thing is Sadhana. It’s a woman’s choice to stay behind with manifestation or to grow beyond Creation.
